The end of the quarter. It has a lot of meanings. Could be a last second shot. Could be a final closing for the month to measure your progress. Could be a time to review your goals. And should be a time to see what will happen in the 3rd quarter. The 3rd quarter? The normal way of thinking would have you thinking it is time for the 2nd quarter. In a sense that is true, but the results of the work you do in the 2nd quarter will show up in the 3rd quarter.
The activities you perform now should not be just for the 3rd quarter, though. You should be planning that the activities you perform will bring ongoing results in the 3rd quarter, but also in the 4th quarter and beyond. The plans you make and the activities you engage in should be ones that will keep you in the game for the long haul. Many will fail and will drop out as the industry changes over the next few months. These changes have been talked about for at least two years. it should not be a surprise. If you have neveer experienced a down cycle before, it can be scary. But there are opportunities for those who perservere.
One thing you should NOT do is practice halfcourt shots to use at the end of the quarter. For one thing, last second shot opportunities do not come every quarter. The rate of success is not high. You are not the only one on the court. If you practice free throws, lay-ups, mid-range jumpers, etc., you may not be faced with needing the halfcourt shot at the end of the quarter.
So true, so true. Having great fourth quarters is all about doing the marketing, reaching out to past clients, and connecting with new ones in the beginning of the year. Great article!
