A burning topic these days is FRAUD. It probably plays the largest role in the present mortgage crisis. I use the term crisis advisedly, as it is not as deep a problem as the media would have us all believe. A new movie based on the popular TV show and its spawn has recently become available to mortgage professionals who might want a less than dry presentation of the problem. Instead of CSI, Interthinx brings us FSI, a short movie that shows a fraud scheme, which though fictitious, has its basis in truth. It is amusing in a sense, but also something to seriously ponder, both looking back and looking forward.
The Interthinx folks have made the DVD a freebie for those who request it. And they also have examinations that can be taken online with instant results. A passing grade not only gives you a certiticate, but notification to your boss that you have passed this important exam. This is even more important to your clients. If they know you are serious about fraud, then those who might be pushing the envelope, will likely push it in another direction.
