Paulson is a student Machiavelli, not a very good one but still a student.

Paulson is attempting to give the impression to the public something is being done when it really isn’t. Perception is politics and politics is perception.

What I thought was amazing about that hearing was that for the first time in a long time both Democrats and Republicans were on the same side.

Personally, I think the $700 billion would have been better spent on government works projects that put people to work in the short term or made available to the smaller banks and local units of governments to cover shortfalls in their budgets.
